Finding places that cater for allergies can be really difficult. I find most restaurants will cater to people who are Celiac or who are on a gluten-free diet. However, when it comes to having multiple allergies or intolerances it can become even more challenging.
I will update this post every time I find a great place to eat in West Lothian which caters for allergies. Of course, it will also be child friendly!

Hideaway Cafe at Beecraigs
The Hideaway Cafe is located in the Vistors Centre at Beecraigs. My family and I love visiting here for lunch as they cater to my little one’s food allergies so well. If my little one has a reaction, then they have worked with me to look through all the ingredients to see what it could have been. The food is such good quality and tastes delicious too.
Allergy orders are taken first and put through to the kitchen separately from the rest of your order. Someone then takes your order and cooks it from start to finish in a separate section of the kitchen. It is also brought out to you through a separate door which means you know there is no cross-contamination at all.
If you are looking for a hearty lunch or just a coffee and cake then keep this in mind as it is so worthwhile.

My family and I have been here a few times now for lunch. They do cater for dairy and gluten-free diets, however, the choice is not vast, unfortunately. The staff are however very helpful in advising what choices they can do and also double checking dietary requirements with you if they have any questions.
The food from the standard menu is really tasty and the portions are pretty large. I find eating the burger and chips for lunch fills me up until past dinner time! They also have some amazing cakes (although not too sure they have a wide choice for gluten/dairy-free, unfortunately).

Pizza Express in Livingston
This is my go-to restaurant for a meal out with my boys. They are good with their allergy menus and make sure your order goes through correctly. It is one of the only places I know my little boy will be able to have a pizza that caters to his food allergies. It certainly puts my mind at rest when I know places where he won’t get ill from cross-contamination etc.
